Family Liason Worker
At Amington Heath we have our own Family Liason Worker - Janice McKenzie. Janice works two days a week and her role is to support our families in pastoral role. She will advise and support parents with housing, school refusal, finance and benefits, nutrition, parenting..... If Janice can't help she will help find someone who can!
Mental Health First Aiders
Mrs Davies is a trained Adult Mental Health First Aider and Miss Mahon is a Youth Mental Health First Aider. They can advise and support parents, carers, staff and children on mental health and direct to appropriate support services.
Support for Parents of Children with SEND
If you are a parent / carer and you feel that your child should be discussed at your next local hub meeting, you should discuss this with Mrs Fennelly or Mrs Davies.
The Local Offer
Staffordshire’s Local Offer provides information and services for children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families. The Local Offer website aims to help families by gathering the information that they need to know in order to make informed choices about the support they receive.
The Local Offer includes activities, support groups and useful information.
SENDIASS - Staffordshire Family Partnership
Parental support is also available at the SENDIASS - Staffordshire Family Partnership; the information, advice and support service for Staffordshire. They provide a range of support surrounding education, health and social care issues for parents and carers of children/young people with special educational needs and disabilities aged 0-25.
