School Uniform

Uniform

From September 2021, the school uniform at Amington Heath Primary School will change.  Children will wear:-

  • Navy blue leggings, trousers, jogging bottoms, shorts, skirts or skorts (not jeans)

  •  A pale blue or white polo shirt

  • A blue gingham summer dress and navy blue cardigan (not on forest school or PE days)

A navy blue hooded jumper – jumpers with logos will be available to buy from the school office for £11.50

  • Dark trainers (children may wear school shoes on days with no PE or forest school if they wish)

School uniform will be compulsory and all children will be required to wear school uniform when attending school.  Children who do not attend in uniform may be asked to change into a ‘school owned’ uniform during their time in school.

Children do not need a separate PE uniform but will need trunks (not long shorts) or one-piece costume (not bikinis/tankinis), towel and swimming hat (if hair is long enough to fall into the eyes) for swimming lessons.

Jewellry

No jewellery is allowed in school, with the exception of small stud earrings. These items can often be valuable, are easily lost or broken and can be a safety hazard.

Earrings must be removed for PE. According to BAALPE (British association of Advisors and Lecturers in Physical Education) and AfPE (Association for Physical Education) guidelines: ‘Jewellery i.e. watches, rings earrings, bracelets, necklaces etc should not be warn whilst participating in PE lessons.’ It would be appreciated if children do not wear earrings on PE days.

If your child is unable to remove their earrings, they will be asked to cover them with plasters which MUST BE PROVIDED FROM HOME or they will be asked to sit out of the lesson. Staff are not able to assist with taping or removing earrings and we cannot provide plasters. This is something we want to avoid as we see the enjoyment that the children experience when taking part in PE and wouldn’t want the children to miss out.

Earrings must be removed for swimming lessons.
